Palmer finally traded to the Raiders!

After insisting that he would not trade quarterback Carson Palmer(notes) under any circumstances, even after Palmer threatened to retire rather than play for the his team, Cincinnati Bengals owner Mike Brown(notes) was finally ready to bend on that issue at the 11th hour. According to a Tuesday report by Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, Brown had been talking with the Oakland Raiders about a trade that would send Palmer to the Raiders for a first-round draft pick in 2012 and a conditional first-round pick in 2013. If the Raiders win a playoff game in the 2011 season, the Bengals will get a first-rounder in 2013; it will be a second-round pick if they don’t.

The trade was confirmed by ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, and it will happen just before the 1 p.m. PT trade deadline.

Murray has few points to defend before the end of the season and with Federer sidelined with an injury, the Scot is well-placed to end the season as world number three for the first time.

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, who has won the Australian and US Opens as well as Wimbledon this year remains comfortably ahead despite taking time off to rest a back injury. French Open winner Rafael Nadal of Spain stays in second.

Well this is fun isn’t it? The Oakland Raiders giving us something to talk about yet again. It’s always a party when the Oakland Raiders are making a splash. I wasn’t surprised to see Carson Palmer on the front page of SI and ESPN this morning but I could not believe the price they got. Good for them I guess. This just makes an already headline filled NFL season even better. This season has been great and with so many QB headlines I guess it’s only fitting that Carson Palmer gets put back in the mix with a very controversial trade. It’ll be really interesting to see how he does in the silver and black. I’m leaning towards not so good. Also, you think you could take a look at my blog cuz I’d love to hear what you have to say http://chrisross91.wordpress.com/2011/10/18/al-davis-managing-from-the-grave/
